How To Disguise a BIG Butt

Some of us have been blessed with a BIG derriere. It can be a great curse, but to every problem, there is a solution! I have discovered different ways to help slim out that unsightly problem. First of all remember that dark colors can disguise
a lot of flab. Secondly, you will want to emphasize your greatest features which could be a strong jaw line, or a tiny waist, or beautiful hair, or skinny sleek legs, or whatever. So first identify your best qualities and put the emphasis there so as to NOT draw attention to that big butt. Thirdly, wear a pop of color either in your shoe choice, necklace, scarf, blouse, or any where except your butt. Fourth, never wear clothing that draws attention to your butt. I think sleek dresses are your best choice and then skirts. Do not go for big fat broom skirts unless you can pull off a trimmer shirt on top with a belt. I think wrap dresses are the best. Spanx and other spandex type undergarments help a lot! I always try to buy a cute jacket that can cover my butt just slightly. This covers some good ground.

What NOT to Wear

Do you ever see fashion faux pas that leave you wondering, "What were they thinking?" or "Did they not have a mirror? Here is a small sample of what I have found to be distasteful:
1. Jumpers especially on middle aged women
2. Suspenders of any kind or color
3. Light wash denim, in any form
4. The colors of yellow and brown worn together
5. Knee high's worn with a skirt or dress
6. Two-toned hair (that looks like a skunk)
7. Bad breath
8. Body odor
9. Yellow teeth
10. Too tight of clothing
11. Heavy clothes worn with heavy scarf
12. Turtle necks worn to church
13. Mini skirts
14. Seasonal sweaters
15. Casual dress for a semi-formal occasion
16. Greasy hair or un-styled hair
17. Grey hair
18. Ugly, out-dated shoes

I Love Ronald Reagan

Politics are front and center these days and I can't help myself looking first at the
color and style of the candidate's ties. I like to see what the wives are wearing and how their hair looks. I think Ronald Reagan was one of our best presidents. He said so many great things. Here are a few of my favorites: "Republicans believe that every day is the Fourth of July, but the Democrats believe every day is April 15." or "Life is one grand, sweet song, so start the music." or "Man is not free until government is limited." or "The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help."

5 Ways To Wear Your Basic White Shirt

A crisp white button down shirt is a classic piece yet so versatile. You can take it from day into evening or from casual to formal just with some right pieces or accessories. Here are five different looks with one white shirt:
1. Put a sweater on top of your white shirt and top it with some pearls and a jean skirt.
2. Put on your basic white shirt and top it off with a ribbon sash (can replace the buttons with rhinestones).
3. Wear a tank under your white shirt and tie a knot in the shirt near your belly. Top it off with a broom skirt and sandals.
4. Put on a classic sheathe dress over a white shirt. Top with many strands of pearls.
5. Wear your white shirt under your favorite jacket and a good pair of jeans.

Flattering Work Out Wear

Going to the gym can be a chore in and of itself. I think just getting there is HALF of the battle. I have seen so many BAD workout outfits that it is frightening. Yes, I've seen grandma's in their holiday sweaters and regular shoes to prima donna's in their over-the-top, nothing-left-to-the-imagination skin tight work out clothes. I think that you have got to love what you work out in so you stay motivated. I have an array of velour suits that my son thinks are yucky. I also love a long black, spandex work out pant (yoga), with a colorful zip up jacket. My favorite brand is called Zella. They sell it at Nordstrom. Their lines are very flattering.

Stress Busters!

Do you ever get so stressed that you just want to burst? They say stress is bad for your body and can cause all kinds of medical problems from head aches to heart attacks...I think we need to learn what triggers our stress levels and discover what we can do to counter attack our stresses. I have made a little list of what helps me:
1. Squeeze a small rubber ball.
2. Try breathing deeply and slowly. Blow out your air slowly.
3. Walk up a hill.
4. Take a hot bubble bath.
5. Write down all the things that are bothering you.
6. Do leg lifts.
7. Stretch.
8. Get a deep tissue massage.
9. Get a fancy car wash.
10. Buy fresh flowers.
11. Eat chocolate.
12. Pray.
13. Get a facial or a pedicure.
14. Bake your favorite cookies.
15. Call a friend or sister.
16. Do something nice for someone else.
17. Clean out a drawer.
18. Go for a drive up the mountains.
19. Swim.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

Do something SWEET for someone today. It's never too late to wear pink or red. You can bake some cookies and frost them. You can buy some candy and give it away. You can text all of your loved ones. You can buy pink or red roses and put them out.
