Positive Outlook May Be Good For Your Heart
Remember the song, "Don't Worry-Be Happy!"? This may be very good advice. Being happy may be good for your heart and your health. Scientists have long known that Type A personalities can be chronically angry, anxious, and have depression, thus having a higher risk for heart attacks. Now a Harvard study has concluded that being optimistic and upbeat my help protect against heart disease. Most of the studies have shown that optimistic people had half the risk of a heart attack when compared to the least optimistic. People with a better sense of well being tend to have healthier blood pressure and weight, and are more likely to exercise, eat well, sleep better and have the ability to avoid smoking.
