To Curl or Not To Curl-That Is the Question

Lately I have noticed that most of the models in high fashion magazines and catalogs have their hair long and curled. It is the old refined look that existed in the 80's. I personally love the look and think that it looks polished. It's funny how ladies with straight hair always want curled hair and curly- haired- ladies always want straight hair! The grass is always greener on the other side. I think poker straight hair is totally out of style. That was the predominant look of the 90's. I personally prefer the long, curled or twisted-around-the-curling-iron hair. It is worth the effort and time. If you don't think it's in style just check out the last couple of issues of the front covers of Vogue magazine.

Nude Colored Patent Pumps

I know that nude colored patent pumps are all over the stores but I just love them! They are so versatile and can be worn with practically anything! They are neutral and go well with purple, or navy or any color. They also elongate the leg so it makes you look tall and slender. ( No wonder all those pageant girls wear those nude pumps.)

I Just Love Freebies!

Guess what? It is Clinique Bonus Days ahead on Oct. 4-23, 2011 at Macy's department store. I usually don't endorse a product but I just love freebies! If you purchase anything in Clinique for $21.50 you get a bonus gift packed with makeup goodies. Usually you get a make up bag, lipstick, eye make up remover, cleanser, mascara, and age defying cream, all for free. This is the ONLY way I buy perfume or make up. I always have to have a bonus or gift to motivate me to buy my perfume or foundation, or whatever. Sometimes I will keep the bonus gift for myself or give it away for a birthday or Christmas gift.

A Pop of Red!

If you are looking for some fun in your wardrobe, add a pop of RED. It can be a cute red scarf, red pumps, red necklace, or a red belt. It can do wonders for your mood and your outfit. Red and mustard yellow are really big this fall so add some color to your ensemble. I love red lipstick. You can look more alive and happy and your teeth will instantly look whiter too. Red lip color or gloss gives you a glamor look. Try it and see. Good luck with your pop of RED!

Dress For Success

I was in a book store the other day and noticed a sloppy dressed young man sipping on a HUGE soda. He asked to speak with the manager. His jeans were dirty and coming down from his waist. He needed a haircut and a shave. He looked to be about 18 years old. His T-shirt had large letters on it. The manager took one quick glance at the way he was dressed as he asked if she had reviewed his job application. Her reaction was exactly what I predicted it would be--she turned him down (and probably doesn't want to hire him). I thought, if only you had combed your hair, gotten a haircut, put on some dress slacks, and a white collared button down shirt, you would have gotten the job or at least a job interview. Why do people walk around sipping 64 ounce drinks? Do they know how unbecoming it looks? A little effort on his part would have resulted in a much better outcome. The way we dress, walk, and look leaves a big impression on people. It's too bad that we make snap judgements about others just based on appearances but how we look says a lot about us on the inside. We need to put forth the effort and dress for success! It doesn't take any more time or energy than putting on a sloppy pair of jeans and a t-shirt. The effort is worth it! Have you ever noticed how you feel better when you look better?
