The saying goes: "Honesty is the best policy." But I say honesty is the only policy. I hate it when you ask someone a direct question and they won't answer it with a polite, direct and honest response. You know, you get the politically correct answer or an answer to make them look good. They fudge with the truth or leave you with a totally dishonest remark! Dishonesty is all over the place. Take for instance the ex-husband who refuses to pay child support. Take the cashier who over-charges you or forgets to give you your cash back. How about a flat out lie about someone? Or someone who distorts the truth to make someone else look bad? How about cheating on tests? Or spreading falsehoods. Marvin J. Ashton stated: "A lie is ANY communication given to another with the intent to deceive...A lie can be effectively communicated without words ever being spoken. Sometimes a nod of the head or silence can deceive." I think that's why I love little children so much--they are just plain honest.

Here are some swell sayings:
Add a little sweetness to your day!
What if "the season to be jolly" lasted all year long?
Miracles are not limited to the holidays.
Warmth on the inside can melt cold on the outside.
Spending time is a greater gift than money.
Laugh whenever possible.
It's one thing to offer empathy yet much greater to lend relief!
Your presence is often the best present!
If old acquaintances be forgot, give them a call and remember!
Togetherness in itself is a holiday.
I believe that everyone looks good in navy blue but I just came across an article that states everyone looks good in coral or teal and combined they are a perfect color combination. This is because they are in the middle of the color wheel plus they are complimentary colors. Try one of these two color sometime and see for yourself! Or put the two colors together and you just might be surprised. As you know red and green are complimentary colors, as are yellow and purple and blue and orange. So next time you are shopping and there are hundreds of different colors of say cardigans, pick up one in coral or teal and hold it up to your face, in the mirror, and you will be amazed at how great it looks on YOU!

I can't believe it's your birthday! She was due on Christmas Day but came two weeks early--thanks! A beauty and a cutie She reminds me of Christmas. Everyone must listen to Handel's Messiah for Christmas. Handel was a genius and composed this masterpiece in just 23 days! It is recorded that a great light appeared from his room as he wrote. He wouldn't eat or drink for days as he composed. He has thrilled and inspired many across the world as we worship God through music.

A SMILE is the perfect gift, personal, and encouraging. It is free and costs nothing. It means so much to the receiver. Remember, you're not fully dressed until you're dressed with a SMILE! I have noticed that when I try to smile, people smile back! It is amazing. My Mom always plastered on a smile whenever she went to my school and my classmates would always say, "Why is your Mom always so happy?" It is a great gift, so try it and you will see! I like the poem by Ella Wilcox: "Smile. It is easy enough to be pleasant when life flows like a song. But the man worthwhile is one who will smile when everything goes dead wrong. For the test of the heart is trouble and it always comes with the years. And the smile that is worth the praises of earth is the smile that shines through the tears."
