A Life Well Lived

Not wealth, fame, or fortune can compare to a life well lived. Ralph Waldo Emerson summed it up this way:  "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and affection of children; to learn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a little bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.  This is to have succeeded."  We do try to make life so hard through ego, addictions, false ambitions, laziness, temptation, insecurity, and poor judgments.  Real living is choosing wisely and being true to yourself, by taking time to smell the roses and to look to God and live!
