You first need to decide what kind of event you will be dressing for. I need to wear fancy black for this Sunday's concert when I conduct the "Hallelujah" chorus and play the organ for ten Christmas pieces. For Church it will be entirely different. If you are going to an office party or getting up for Christmas morning, you need to carefully consider what would be appropriate.
